Spanish Terroir was founded on a clear vision: to elevate Spanish wines within the world of gastronomy. We believe that the true essence of wine begins with its origin, the terroir, and that only through authenticity and respect for craftsmanship can wines truly stand out on the table of a fine restaurant.
Behind Spanish Terroir are two sommeliers, David Veenhof and Adolfo Gatell, whose expertise is rooted in both Hospitality and the Spanish wine world. David, an Amsterdam native, discovered his passion for wine during a visit to Sicily and built his career as a sommelier in Amsterdam. Adolfo, raised in Spain’s wine culture, holds the distinction of being the youngest person to achieve WSET Level 3 in Spain, and is ambitiously pursuing the title of Master of Wine. Their shared background in gastronomy shapes every choice they make, from sourcing wines to supporting chefs and sommeliers.
Our ambition is to provide gastronomic partners with wines that inspire – whether through unique pairings, storytelling, or the creation of a distinctive wine list. Each bottle in our portfolio is carefully selected to deliver balance, character, and precision. We know the makers personally, and we curate wines that not only express their terroir but also excel in culinary contexts.
To strengthen this mission, we collaborate closely with Guía Peñín, Spain’s most influential wine authority. This partnership enables us to source exceptional wines with remarkable price-to-quality ratios, tailored to the needs of the Dutch gastronomic market. (Further down this page, you can read more about our collaboration with Guía Peñín.)
At Spanish Terroir, our ambition is clear: to become the reference for Spanish wines in gastronomy. By combining deep product knowledge with a sharp understanding of restaurant dynamics, we help our partners craft wine programs that elevate the dining experience and leave a lasting impression on their guests.
We bring Spain to your glass – with knowledge, ambition, and an unwavering commitment to gastronomy.
