Notas Frutales
This is José, the viticulture. Everything began when he decided to recover the vineyards that once belonged to his grandfather in the mountainous area of Condado de Tea, a subzone of DO Rías Baixas and the only inland subregion of the denomination.
The vineyards are located near the Miño River in southern Galicia. José’s main goal is to bring Albariño to its optimal ripeness and express the character of this variety without Atlantic influence, highlighting the identity and landscape of Condado de Tea. His philosophy is simple: great wines are created in the vineyard, and extensive manual work in the vines is essential to achieving quality and authenticity.
José is not a winemaker, and he understood early on the importance of working with the right partner in the cellar. For this reason, he collaborates with Pablo Esteve — awarded Best Young Winemaker in Spain five times in the last six years, one of the most recognized emerging figures in Spanish winemaking.
