Vintage 2021 · the year

A cool year marked by spring frosts and abundant rainfall, which reduced yields but preserved freshness. Summer was mild, with slow and balanced ripening leading to a late harvest. The wines are precise and aromatic, with vibrant acidity and a crystalline expression of Verdejo, making it a vintage of great finesse and ageing capacity.

At the table.

Tested at our own service. Works particularly well with white fish · poultry · shellfish.

Sommelier note

Open 30 minutes before service. Decant for younger vintages. Avoid over-chilling — serve closer to the warmer end of the recommended range when paired with richer dishes.

In recent decades, Verdejo has suffered from a poor reputation due to mass production. Still, the Murillo family is now reclaiming its legacy with exceptional pre-phylloxera plantings that capture the true, historic taste of Verdejo.
